Because, after all, I have a reputation to uphold, because it's a Saturday night, and a good, no-- great-- game was on, and because I haven't done it in a while, I thought I'd tell you what's been helping me get through the night. Aside from the game, I mean.
Tonight it's Bellini Martini, the approximate recipe for which can be found here (promise me you will never believe the lying bastards who tell you this drink does not include champagne, k? k). The recipe is approximate in that the ingredients are right, but not necessarily the proportions. For the proper drink there is always that nice little place on the piaza level of The Ven1t1an resort in Las V@gas. Or my house. If you choose the latter please do give me at least a couple of hours of warning to make sure there is food to go with the drink.
So what are you drinking this fine time of day?

Plain old Bud Light here. I am boring. But it's been ages since I've had a drink of alcohol, so deserved :-).
Amy
Damn. I'm allergic to champagne! Or I guess the more correct thing to say would be I'm gastrointestinally intolerant of it. Plain old dirty Martini for me. Not this morning however. Right now I'm enjoying a huge thermos of ice water.
We're still stuck on Kir Royals--but this sounds AMAZING! Can we substitute champale for champagne?
B, can you do nonalcoholic champagne? I think it's the fizz that is essential to the drink... And if not, we have more than a few other drinks in the rotation around here.
Meg, yes, I am sure champale will do just fine. And oh, those Kirs were gooooooood.
I had some tasty cocktail at a friend's house last night, but 45 minutes later had to abruptly go home because of a terrible stomachache. I am wondering if the two were related.
So, for now, I'm off cocktails and sticking with plain old white wine (or even water... I'm not much of a drinker).
I'm a red wine kind of girl.
Uh, lemon juice. Straight or with a little tonic water. But I'd be more than happy to let you fix me something a little more alcoholic sometime.
i am finding that alcohol is not having the same effect it used to...is it the postpartum hormones? boy would THAT be a kick in the ass!!!!!!
anyway, i'm doing white wine. red is giving me a headache these days.
I want one of these! But I guess I'll have to wait. At least it's for a good reason, hmm?
Melting water from a frozen Poland Spring bottle. Very boring.
Ratafia!
A concoction I made - from wine and peaches and vodka and sugar.
I suspect you would like it.
